![]() ![]() I doubt you've even played F-zero GX if you're putting WO on a higher level in the difficulty and track design departments. just finishing the story missions on normal is quite the task. F-zero is hard no matter how you slice it. The game is still a cakewalk unless you're playing on v.hard. Ok fine, I didn't play the hardest challenges. Yeah I know, and that's what I was referring to. the race is over, it says "ship destroyed," and you get a "DNF" (Did Not Finish) t he only time you respawn is if you fall off a cliff and still have ship energy and in online races. I'm not overwhelmed at all, or else I would be having trouble with the game.Īnd wtf are you talking about it should be game over when you crash? it IS game over when you crash. either way, its a moot point seeing as how you can turn weapons off. futuristic racers without weapons like f-zero feel tame and dull by comparison, so its understandable why you would feel overwhelmed by the weapons in wipeout. The weapons make the races in wipeout amazing they make races extremely hectic and intense. The track design doesn't touch f-zero and there is nothing special about the AI. and its still more than possible for a skilled player to blow the AI away regardless. the AI does utilize rubberbanding but wipeout is hardly the only racing game still doing that. you can tell how good the track design is when every mode works well on almost every track. Compared to a similar game like F-zero, wipeout is a cakewalk.the tracks all look great and vary greatly in theme and design. I was playing the "Flash" and "rapier" speed classes. Overall, its obvious from talking about the game with you that you 1) didnt spend much time with the game, and 2) arent very good at it. phantom elite racing, phantom elite racing the tracks in reverse, reaching zone 75 in zone mode, getting the beat zico trophy - you didnt even touch any of the hardest challenges in the game. and dont dare disagree with me because you havent experienced either. playing the game on the fastest speed class and on the hardest difficulty, under those conditions, is harder than any f-zero game. in f-zero, all you have to worry about is the racing - you dont have to worry about someone hitting you with a missile when you take the lead during the final lap. f-zero isnt close to the challenges found in wipeout hd. Wipeout hd is a cakewalk compared to f-zero? you havent even played the fastest speed class. the race is over, it says "ship destroyed," and you get a "DNF" (Did Not Finish) the only time you respawn is if you fall off a cliff and still have ship energy and in online races. then you could get your "serious" racer.Īnd wtf are you talking about it should be game over when you crash? it IS game over when you crash. ![]() I wish they didn't included them and the game would feel like a more serious racer. AI is classic rubberband (ala nintendo64). I don't see what's so good about the track design, it's the same as the other wipeouts. ditto for the weapons being 'uninspired' - other futuristic racers like fzero dont even have weapons.Īnd since the game is so easy, can i ask how many gold medals you were able to get, and on what difficulty and speed class? theres nothing about the gameplay that feels like a '64 game' - that doesn't even make sense. ![]()
